<p>PURPOSE:To provide a piano mechanism which can effectively suppress the sound volume of a piano without varying a touch and sound quality. CONSTITUTION:A hammer regulating button 66 projected from the under surface of a hammer rail 28 abuts on the top surface 40a of a catcher 40 right before strings are struck by a hammer 30. Then, the abutting of the hammer regulating button 66 on the catcher 40 brakes the string striking motion of a string striking part 22 to suppress the volume of sounding by string striking. The suppression of the volume of sounding is completely irrelevant to the mechanical operation of a transmission part 24 consisting of a jack 36, etc., at the time of keying operation and when the strings are struck, no buffer material is interposed between the strings 90 and hammer 30, so that the sound volume of the piano can be suppressed without varying the touch and sound quality.</p> |
