PURPOSE:To precisely judge the feed error of an electronic component at an electronic- component insertion machine and to prevent the production of a defective printed- circuit board by providing a process wherein the color code of the electronic component is recognized visually, an electric characteristic is read out and the electric characteristic is compared with the electric characteristic of an electronic component which has been input in advance to an electronic-component mounting machine. CONSTITUTION:Regarding the electric characteristic of an electronic component which has been loaded in advance on an electronic-component insertion machine, color names of color bands are input for every color band on the basis of the provisions on the display of a rating by a color code. Then, the electric characteristic is read out from the color code of the electronic component at a timing at which the electronic component is fed just under a color-code recognition device 6 installed at the upper part of an electronic-component feed device 2. Then, a rated value which has been input in advance and which has been obtained from a color name for every color band for the electronic component and information on a tolerance are compared with the recognized result of the color code. When they coincide, it is judged that no discrepancy of the electronic component exists, and the electronic component is taken out from the component feed device 2 and inserted into a designated printed-circuit board. |
