发明名称 CONNECTING METHOD FOR OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE AND OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify fine optical axis alignment with the connecting method to be used for connection of an optical waveguide and an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide 51 and optical fiber 53 to be connected are disposed to face each other and are fixed by nearly aligning their cores and forming a prescribed spacing. Phase conjugation mirrors 11, 12 are installed at both ends of the optical waveguide 51 and the optical fiber 53. Phase conjugated light is formed from the coherent light entering from one end thereof and is put into an oscillation state. A first photosetting resin injected into the spacing between the optical waveguide 51 and the optical fiber 53 is cured by the phase conjugated light made into the oscillation state, by which a coupled core part having the refractive index coinciding with the refractive index of the respective cores 52, 54 of the optical waveguide 51 and the optical fiber 53 is formed. Further, a second photosetting resin injected into the connecting part of the optical waveguide 51 and the optical fiber 53 is cured by UV rays cast from outside to form the coupled clad layer having the refractive index lower than the refractive index of the coupled core part around the coupled core part.
