PURPOSE:To steadily supply toner to a developing roller even when a developing device is used at an angle in the direction of the rotation of the developing roller and to obtain high image quality. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted so that at least one of toner supply rollers 5a-5c is brought into contact with a toner pool 7, and the supply roller 5c situated downstream from the supply roller 5b which is in contact with the toner pool 7 is rotated in a normal direction at the same speed as that of the developing roller 4. Here, an electric field for moving toner to the developing roller 4 is generated between the supply roller 5c and the developing roller 4 Also, the supply rollers 5 are movably supported in the direction along the movement of the surface of the developing roller 4 so that one of the supply rollers 5 is always in contact with the toner pool 7. A member 8 for connecting them with the developing roller 4 may be provided. The supply rollers 5 may be moved by their weights. Such a control means as to detect the position of the toner pool 7 by means of a toner sensor and move the supply rollers 5 to the above-mentioned position by the use of a servomotor, etc., may also be provided. |
