CERAMIC DISCHARGE TUBE FOR HIGH-PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP, AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF, AND SEALING MATERIAL USED THEREIN

PURPOSE: To provide a ceramic discharge tube for a high-voltage discharge lamp which is capable of resisting erosion and a temperature change and does not lose airtightness even if a sealing material including halide is used and its manufacturing method and a sealing material advantageously used for such a ceramic discharge tube. CONSTITUTION: A ceramic discharge tube 8 for a high-pressure discharge lamp has pin-like current conductors 10a, 10b inserted in plugs 11a and 11b consisting of compound materials. The current conductors 10a, 10b are directly fixed to the plugs 11a, 11b by sintering. In addition, airtightness between the plug and the current conductor is secured by covering the region around the current conductor on the plug surface at the sides opposing to the inside of the discharge tube with a ceramic sealing material 7a.
