摘要 A sound localization control apparatus controls localization of sound which is perceived by listeners by carrying out a signal processing on left and right channels binaural audio signals supplied thereto and supplying the resulting signals to left and right loudspeakers. In the apparatus, a matrix, determined based on a transfer function from the loudspeakers to left and right ears of the listener, is multiplied to the left and right channels audio signals. In order to determine the matrix, the matrix is determined for account of four paths including the two noncrossing main paths formed between the loudspeakers and the left and right ears of the listener and the remaining two "cross-talk" paths cross each other. In the case where a difference in delay time T exists between transmitting a sound through a main path and transmitting a sound through a cross-talk path, and the ratio between the amount of attenuation for transmitting a sound through a main path and the amount on attenuation for transmitting a sound through a cross-talk path is k, and a delay operator for performing a delay function of delay time T is defined as z-T, then the matrix is defined as follows: <IMAGE> The sound localization control apparatus carries out a pre-process of the input binaural signal so that cross-talk components signal is canceled.
