PURPOSE:To average the amounts of electrolyte consumed so as to provide an extended life by providing an electrolyte plate with a number of slits oriented from the supply side to the outlet side of fuel and air, and moving electrolyte on the low-temperature side to an output on the high-temperature side. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte plate 3 is located between both electrodes 1, 2 and provided with vertical 4 and horizontal 5 slits. Because of the numerous slits 4, 5, the electrolyte plate 3 forms a gas flow from low- to high-temperature sides with increases in the concentrations of electrolyte in the slits 4, 5, thus moving the electrolyte to the high-temperature side. Therefore, fuel with which the electrolyte is consumed at relatively low speed on the inner surface of the cell and the electrolyte on the air-supply side can both be positively moved to the high-temperature side at an outlet, so the amounts of electrolyte consumed are averaged and cell life can be extended. |
