PURPOSE:To prevent a display from being abnormally operated due to an abnormal signal by stopping the operation or a driving part by a driving control part when the display data from a host system is asynchronous with a data generation part and holding the display in a non-driving state. CONSTITUTION:By an initialization check part 22, initialization check is performed according to a signal supplied from the host system 12, and when the initialization is ended, a high level signal is supplied to a plasma display(PDP) control circuit 17. By the PDP control circuit 17, the signal supplied from the initialization check part 22 is supplied to an enable terminal of an incorporated timing ROM 17a. The timing ROM 17a is made to be in a disable state when the signal supplied from the initialization check part 22 is a low level, that is, no initialization is performed, and the output of the data is stopped. Thus, no data are supplied to a PDP driving waveform generation circuit 18, and no pulse is supplied to drivers 19, 20 from the PDP driving waveform generation circuit 18, and a PDP 13 is held in the non-driving state. |
