PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic metal powder for producing a high density magnetic recording medium excellent in shelf life and magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The ferromagnetic metal powder contains 0.05wt.% or less of group Ia element, and 0.1-30 atomic % of aluminium and 0.1-10 atomic % of rare earth element (including Y), as required, wherein the residual quantity of group IIa element is 0.1wt.% or less. |
