<p>PURPOSE:To generate a high-precision translated sentence by describing detailed meaning limit information and to securely generate a translated sentence even when the obtained case structure tree fails as a result of a meaning analysis. CONSTITUTION:A 'default translation flag' is set in a dictionary 12 in a memory 3. The normal equivalent selection part 9 of a translation module 2 takes a meaning analysis of the case structure found by a dictionary look-up morpheme analysis part 6, a syntax analysis part 7, and a tree structure conversion part 8. A special equivalent selection part 10 performs default translation by referring to the 'default translation flag' in the dictionary 12 when the case structure tree fails as a result of the meaning analysis to pass the case structure tree, and gives low evaluation points to the case structure tree. Thus, even if the case structure tree fails in the meaning analysis since detailed meaning limits are described, the translated sentence can securely be generated. When the tree does not fails in the meaning analysis, the highly precise translated sentence can be generated.</p> |
