PURPOSE:To copy character strings at high speed with one instruction while using a computer, which is not provided with the arbitrary length of character string copying instructions, by loading copy source data with the prescribed byte length of registers or the set of registers as a unit and storing those data into the copy destination for the same unit. CONSTITUTION:In a step S1, the character strings are copied with an instruction not limiting K bytes until the copy source character strings in a copy destination area 11 turn to the border of K bytes. In S2, the copy source character strings at the border of K bytes are loaded to a register 12 for the unit of K bytes. In S3, these data are operated, and data for the unit of K bytes corresponding to the area of the border of K bytes in the copy destination area 11 are prepared on a register 13. In S4, these data are stored in the copy destination area 11 and in S5, the processes from S2 to S4 are repeated until the character strings for the unit of K bytes are finished for the copy destination character strings. In S6, when non-copied character strings less than K bytes are remained, the remaining character strings are copied to the copy destination area 11 corresponding to the instruction not limiting the border of K bytes. |
