DOCUMENT PREPARATION DEVICE AND WORD EXTRACTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To automatically extract candidate words for a word to be registered in the document preparation device from an electronic publication, etc., and display them to a user. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 receives the electronic publication from an electronic publication information source 10 by a communication control part 9 through a network 13 and loads it in a RAM 7. A document analytic device 4 analyzes the grammar of the loaded document to extract words and stores its words in a specific area of the RAM 7. The CPU 1 decides whether or not an extracted word is already present in a dictionary in a ROM 6 and stores extracted words which are not present in a file area in the RAM 7. The extracted words which are stored in the file area in the RAM 7 are outputted on a display device 5 or printer 8 and shown to the user. The user registers necessary words among the displayed words as new words in the device by operating a keyboard 2.
