PURPOSE:To allow prevention of nonspecific agglutination by carrying an antigen protein derived from hepatitis C virus gene and casein on an insoluble carrier. CONSTITUTION:An insoluble carrier includes composite particles of high specific gravity (HDP), red blood cell of sheep, gelatin particles, etc., wherein HDP and red blood cell are preferably employed and HDP is more preferably employed. An antigen protein (HCV antigen) derived from hepatitis C virus gene is a protein encoded by the hepatitis C virus gene obtained from a cDNA library prepared by separating the virus gene from the serum of viral hepatitis type non A, non B patient after transfusion. Colibacillus is preferably employed in the manifestation of HCV antigen. When the HCV antigen and casein are carried by an insoluble carrier, miscellaneous substances in a specimen is prevented from being adsorbed to the surface of the insoluble carrier and thereby nonspecific agglutination is prevented. |
