PURPOSE: To obtain a color ink jet printer simple in structure capable of printing a color image of high quality on plain paper by discharging excessive sprayed ink under vacuum from the vicinity of a printing region and supplying a cooling air stream to a power supply to actively pass the same through a heating means. CONSTITUTION: Air, excessive ink droplets and ink-containing vapor are drawn in an inlet opening part by the operation of a fan 220 to be removed from a printing region. Air passes through a motor 166, a heater and a preheater 72 through a heater element and the housing opening parts 228, 230 arranged to the opposite end parts of a heater element and a reflector 106 to be drawn. An air ventilation system achieving some functions such as the cooling of electronic parts constituting a printer, the removal of vapor and excessive ink from the printing region, the prevention of the abnormal rise in the temp. of the region of the heater, the preheater 72 and the drive motor 166 is constituted. |
