The process consists in exposing an organic product containing at least one hydroxyl group and/or at least one aldehyde group to an ionising radiation, for example gamma rays originating from a cobalt 60 source container, the said organic product being dissolved before or after the exposure. It relates to the industrial field of the manufacture of substances of gelatinous consistency for medical use. The gels obtained by this process are intended in particular for applications in aesthetic surgery or restorative surgery, for example the production of prostheses, implantable or otherwise, for female patients who have undergone a mastectomy.
