PURPOSE:To securely absorb the primary and secondary impulses of a vehicle on its collision, in a steering device. CONSTITUTION:A universal joint 3 is provided between a main shaft 2 and an intermediate shaft 4 and composed of a yoke 31 on the main shaft side, a yoke 38 on the intermediate shaft side, and a cross spider 34 connected to these yokes 31, 38. The arm 35 of the cross spider 34 is supported by a holder 33 with the U-shaped section in the yoke 31 on the main shaft side. A bearing 81 is set to the arm 35 of the cross spider 34 so as to be rotatable against the holder 33. The holder 33 and the arm 35 of the cross spider 34 are engagingly locked by a resin injection molding 82. This resin injection molding 82 is broken by a shearing force larger than a specified one so as to cut off the junction between the holder 33 and the arm 35 of cross spider 34. |
