<p>PURPOSE:To improve the clarification efficiency of waste water by increasing the deposition and proliferation rate of organism by giving a flocking treatment on the surface, which contacts at least waste water, of a solid carrier raw material which forms an organism fixing solid carrier for clarifying waste water by biological treatment. CONSTITUTION:This organism fixing carrier used for an apparatus for clarifying dirty water in a river polluted with waste water of various kinds by biological treatment is prepared by a method in which flocking process is provided on the surface, which contacts at least waste water, of a solid carrier raw material selected from crushed stone, ceramics, blast furnace slag, ceramic pieces, pulverized concrete block, plastics, and so forth. Fibers of a nylon, cotton, a polyethylene, and others, in particular, fibers having a porous core indicating capillarity are preferably used as flocks. More than one solid carrier raw material is bonded together forming spaces between the solids to penetrates them. The carrier is loaded with microorganisms for treating waste water and nutriment for the microorganisms.</p> |
