PURPOSE:To obtain the composition capable of substituting trichlorotrifluoroethane, free from the properties of destructing the ozone layer and having extremely high safety by compounding dihydrooctafluorobutane, methanol and a specific stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:The composition is obtained by compounding (A) 1,4- dihydro-1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4-octafluorobutane with (B) me thanol or ethanol and (C) a stabilizer consisting of nitromethane or epichlorohydrin. Specifically, e.g. an azeotropic composition having a boiling point of 36-37 deg.C at atmospheric pressure is obtained by compounding 96.2-96.7% A-component with 3.2-3.4% methanol and 0.1-0.4% nitromethane. Further, a stabilizer, e.g. nitroethane or dimethoxymethane and a co-stabilizer, e.g. phenol or thymol are preferably added to the composition to improve the stability. |
