Quick connection of a tube (2) capable of being fitted into an end fitting (1), the said tube having a first axial stop (2c), a member (4-4a) for axially locking the tube mounted inside the end fitting. The tube has a second axial stop (2d) situated beyond the first one relative to the free end of the tube and at a predetermined distance (L) from this first stop. A longitudinally split cylindrical ring (6) made of an elastically deformable material is slidably mounted over the region (2e) of the tube which is situated between these two stops. The said ring has an axial reference mark (6e), preferably an annular one, and its external surface is connected to the wall by a frustoconical chamfer (6f). At its other end, the ring has a transverse face (6c) capable of bearing on the second stop of the tube. The predetermined distance (L) between the two stops of the tube is equal to the sum of the length (L3) and of the distance (l). <IMAGE>
