PURPOSE:To provide an equalizer type tandem suspension which is compact, looks nice, works certainly and has high reliability and is provided with an engagingly locking device of an equalizer beam. CONSTITUTION:This is an equalizer type tandem suspension, in which opposite edges of respective leaf springs to suspend closely arranged front shaft and rear shaft are connected to both edges of an equalizer beam 7 supported rotatably to a car body by an supporting shaft 6. Because an engagingly locking mechanism 11, which prevents rotation of the equalizer beam 7 beyond its normal rotation range, is arranged between the equalizer beam 7 and the supporting shaft 6 of the beam, the equalizer beam 7 is locked and unnecessary rotation of the beam can be depressed, by working the engagingly locking mechanism 11, when occurrence of bad condition may be anticipated in the case of retreat and so on. |
