METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THICKNESS

PURPOSE:To manufacture a strip with satisfactory thickness accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Pair cross mills of a single cross system are adopted for at least a set of rolling mills F2 and F3 among tandem rolling mills composed of five-seven sets of rolling mills F1-F7 and arranged with loopers among the rolling mills. Control and/or automatic thickness control of the loopers provided in adjacent to the rolling mills are adjusted corresponding to cross angle setting of the rolling mills. Consequently, remarkable reduction of the equipment cost and improvement of product thickness accuracy are made possible.
