PURPOSE:To provide a follow-up running control device for a vehicle which gives only proper braking information to a driver in a following car, keeps him safe and avoids unnecessary strain. CONSTITUTION:A brake actuator 9 to control a brake, a brake lamp 11 lit during braking and a running control means 7A to control a throttle actuator 3 and the brake actuator 9 in accordance with a vehicle-to-vehicle distance D, the speed of one's own vehicle and the opening theta of a throttle are provided. The running control means contains a lighting control means to light the brake lamp but prevent the lighting of the brake lamp when under constant speed running control to follow up a preceding vehicle A.
