This is a container comprising a vessel (2) having a bottom opening (4) so that it can be emptied and which can be closed off by a hatch (6) which is movable in translation with respect to the vessel, an opening/closing mechanism being associated with this hatch and including a lower control rod (10) which is movable in translation in a limited manner with respect to the hatch (6) and to the vessel in order, in a first movement towards a closure position of the hatch and for raising the entire container, to cause a bolt (20) to interact in a locked position with a keeper (striking plate) (22), and, in a second movement towards an opening position of the hatch, to unlock the bolt and to interact with the vessel (2) in order to raise it with respect to the hatch.
