The invention relates to a device allowing children to keep their head and body straight in a car under cornering or if they become drowsy. It consists of a backrest element (1) fixed to the backrest of the car by straps (6) and (7). Two small pillow elements (8) and (9) fixed to an adjustable-width sliding spacer (11) hold the head of the child. The sliding spacer (11) is held against the backrest element (1) by straps (6) and (7). A safety harness formed by the straps (12) and (19) holds the child. A part (20) which serves as a seat cushion part may optionally be added for a very small child. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for use by children in cars. <IMAGE>
