<p>PURPOSE:To provide an optical element forming mold that has a mirror-finished surface, in which the peeling of the film and the cracks are not generated at the time of performing the forming of glass and surface defects are reduced. CONSTITUTION:In the forming mold used for the pressing of an optical element made of glass, an intermediate layer comprising an oxi-nitride film is formed on at least the forming surface of the mold and the surface of the intermediate layer consists of carbon and at least one of the constituent elements of the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer is a mixing layer, in which the concn. of carbon atom is increased in the direction from the inside to the surface of the layer and decreased in the reverse direction and the concn. of the other atoms are increased in the direction from the surface to the inside of the layer and decreased in the reversed direction. At the time of performing the forming of the glass optical element by using this forming mold, the glass formed article having excellent releasability from the forming mold and good properties with respect to surface roughness, face accuracy, transmissivity and shape accuracy can be manufactured over a long period.</p> |
