PURPOSE:To provide a pneumatic tire which retains an excellent anti- hydroplaning property and embodies low noise with a practical result. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential main groove 1 of a pneumatic tire which possesses a radial carcass of more than one ply and a belt consisting of cord crossing layers of more than two layers and a cap and is equipped with the circumferential main groove 1 at its tread portion, possesses a number of small recessed portions 2 arranged dispersingly along the circumference on the groove wall surfaces over the whole periphery, and the maximum depth (b) of a small recessed portion is within the range of W/50<=b<=W/10 in regard to the width W of the circumferential main groove 1. |
