PURPOSE:To fit a key-lock device, by constituting a locking device for capable of making relative displacement locking a tilt bracket and a fixed bracket so as to enable both brackets to be clamped in the axial direction of a column, in a goose-necked tilt steering device. CONSTITUTION:A tilt bracket 13 having a reverse U-shaped form in the side view and a pair of members 13a, 13b oppositely facing to each other in the axial direction of a column 11 and pierced by the column 11 is arranged on the upper part of the steering column 11. This bracket 13 is connected to a fixed bracket 14 which is fixed to the car body at the top plate 14d, so as to make relative displacement. A locking device 15 is provided to regulate the relative displacement of the tilt bracket 13 to be a required tilt angle on clamping. The locking device 15 generates the clamping force in accordance with the axial displacement of a cam on a clamp rod 15a by means of the manipulation of a tilt lever 15h. In this way, the key-lock mechanism can be fitted to the side 11a of upper part of steering column 11. |
