PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin foam of which a charging property is improved by a method wherein methyl tertiarybutyl ether is force fitted in the resin as a foaming agent or together with another foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:In a method wherein a thermoplastic resin foam is manufactured by an extrusion foaming process, methyl tertiarybutyl ether(MTBE) is force fitted in the resin as a foaming agent or together with another foaming agent. Herein the extrusion foaming is a process wherein thermoplastic resin is put in an extruder; the resin is melted in the extruder and the foaming agent is force fitted in that therewith; it is extruded in a low pressure area from a mouthpiece fitted to the extruder thereafter, and the resin foam is manufactured. In order to make the MTBE represent remarkably an effect for prevention from charging, it is necessary that usage of the MTBE shall be at least 0.5 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the resin. The usage should be preferably at least 1.0 pts.wt. among them. |
