PURPOSE:To easily and effectively utilize coal ashes by subjecting coal ashes to a ultra-high-temp. treatment with plasma to once evaporate SiO2 which is the essential component in the coal ashes, then rapidly cooling the SiO2. CONSTITUTION:The coal ashes 8 are supplied to a plasma coupling section 6 via a coal ash supplying pipe 11 of an ultra-high-temp. furnace 1. Electric power is then charged to a cathode torch 4 and an anode torch 5 to form an ultra-high-temp. area by the DC plasma of N2 (partly Ar) of 2300 to 3000 deg.C in a coupling section 6. The SiO2 which is the essential component in the coal ashes 8 is thereafter evaporated and the vapor thereof is made to rise in the furnace 1 and is introduced into a rapid cooling section 2. The vapor is rapidly cooled by a quench air 7. SiO2-rich superfine particles 9 are withdrawn and recovered as the superfine particles of <=0.1mum grain size from a gas vent hole in the upper part. The coal ashes are thus treated. |
