Method for the quantitative determination of human thyroid peroxidase (hTPO) in biological fluids, culture media, tissue extracts and liquids which contain highly purified natural hTPO or recombinant hTPO, in which the determination is carried out as a sandwich assay known per se using a first monoclonal antibody against hTPO and at least one other monoclonal antibody against hTPO (mAb1, mAb2), of which the first (mAb1) recognises hTPO in a region which is sensitive to denaturation and which is involved in the binding of auto-antibodies against hTPO and in the enzyme inhibition, while the at least one other antibody (mAb2) recognises hTPO in a region whose binding properties are negligibly impaired by denaturation of hTPO.
