The invention relates to an apparatus for the simultaneous production of a number of folded cloths which in each case can be combined to form a packaging unit (33), with cutting and folding devices (1-5) corresponding to the number of cloths to be simultaneously produced. According to the invention, each cutting and folding device (1-5) is followed by a conveyor band (12-16), the conveyor bands (12-16) being arranged spatially one above the other so as to run in the same direction, and the discharge ends of the conveyor bands (12-16) being arranged offset in the direction of run, in such a way that, in each case, a cloth discharged from a conveyor band is discharged onto the cloth guided by the end of a conveyor band located underneath it. <IMAGE>
