For the intermediate generation of digital signals for subscriber lines, a regenerator module (12) is accommodated in a pipe socket (1), which exhibits essentially two socket heads (2), screwed to one another by connecting rails (3), and a socket pipe. Said regenerator module comprises a carrier board (13) with in each case one printed circuit board (1) which is fastened on the flat sides and is provided with multiple regenerator circuits (18). The carrier board (13), extending between the socket heads (2) in the pipe-socket longitudinal axis, has retaining legs (15) at the ends, by means of which retaining legs the module (12), together with one of the connecting rails (3) is screwed on fastening extensions (8) of the socket head (2). <IMAGE>
