The invention presents a method and a circuit arrangement for the synchronisation of the data exchange between transmitters and receivers which operate with different speeds. For this purpose, the data arriving from the transmitter are essentially passed on to the receiver via a memory. Writing to this memory takes place under defined conditions: - The transmitter emits a write request and the receiver does not emit a read request. - The receiver emits a read request and reads the data after expiry of a time delay, which makes it possible to write to the memory in a stable manner. Areas of use for the invention are in computing systems with a plurality of processors (telecommunications, DP) and in the signal processing of measured value pick-ups. <IMAGE>
