Cooling apparatus

The choke effect (Joule-Thomson effect) can be technically utilised to lower the temperature of a medium below its inversion line. However, the differences in density which appear here are difficult to utilise or cannot be utilised at all to drive the process. The object was to create an apparatus which is temporarily independent of an energy source and by means of which cooling becomes possible without heating of an external heat source being necessary during the process, in the course of which no quantities of coolant or only small quantities of coolant evaporate into the ambient. To achieve the object, several coolant tanks thermally insulated from one another are connected to one another in a circle according to the invention by non-return, pressure-relief and choke valves and are fastened to a rotatably mounted, inclined plane. Separately mounted heat accumulators are arranged at the periphery of the coolant tanks.
