In a locking system for parts which can be moved relative to one another, in particular parts (1, 2) of a vehicle seat, having at least one row of teeth (2') on one of the two parts (1, 2), which row extends along a predetermined movement path, and having two toothed rockers (5, 6) which are articulated on the other part (1) and of which the teeth (5', 6') are aligned with the row of teeth (2'), the teeth (5') of one toothed rocker (5) are offset, with respect to their pivot pin (7), in one direction of the predetermined movement path, while the teeth (6') of the second rocker (6) are offset, with respect to their pivot pin (8), in the other direction of the predetermined path. <IMAGE>
