The invention relates to an artificial stone, in particular an artificial stone slab for cycle paths, comprising at least one cured binder and at least one additive mixed in with the binder. In the case of such artificial stones, usually concrete is used as the binder. To provide an artificial stone whose surface has a luminous, easily visible bright colour at the same time as high resistance to wear and abrasion and which has material properties which can be varied within broad ranges, the artificial stone comprises an outer layer (1) and at least one supporting layer (4) which is firmly bonded to the outer layer (1), and the binder (1) of the outer layer (1) is a synthetic resin, in particular an acrylic or polyester resin, with which particles of scrap glass (3) and a colorant are mixed as additives.
