Dry gypsum mortar mixture

The dry gypsum mortar mixture (plaster) for producing a foamed gypsum building material comprises from 88 to 96 parts by weight of calcium sulphates capable of setting, from 2 to 9 parts by weight of an alkali metal bicarbonate, from 0.5 to 2 parts by weight of boric acid and from 0.5 to 3 parts by weight of slaked lime or cement and, if desired, additionally up to 1 part by weight of air pore formers, fluidisers and/or inhibitors. The gypsum mortar mixture stirred with water foams uniformly and can be cast or sprayed. It is suitable as a lightweight building material for barrier formation, insulation, filling and for the evening out of unevennesses in floors, walls and ceilings.
