Dial-up telecommunications network, preferably a PABX system, in which the subscribers concerned are identified by slot-in cards which in each case have an individual identification code, each slot-in card being able to be inserted in every subscriber set for the purpose of transferring the identification code into the subscriber set. A door-locking card to open a room (e.g. a hotel room) containing a subscriber set and having a codable door key card lock is used as a slot-in card.
