The invention concerns a method for the production of a fertiliser which is readily soluble in water and suitable for use against iron deficiency in plants, the fertiliser consisting of water-soluble iron salts plus residues arising in cellulose production in the form of lignin sulphonic acid or its alkaline or alkaline-earth salts.
