The control system includes a device (1,2,6) for energy management, including a device (2,3) for measuring the quantity of energy consumed. A device (6) is provided for inputting a code representing an energy credit, and a device (4) for placing in memory the credit and a device for reducing the stored credit as a function of the quantity of energy consumed. A protective cut-out (7) including a device (8 to 11) for interrupting the energy supply in the case of a fault, a device (3,8 to 11, 14,15) to interrupt the energy supply, under the control of the energy management device (1), when the credit value is zero and device (R,13) for testing the cut-out(7). The cut-out(7) is a differential switch, and the automatic actuation device includes a normally open test contact (14). Closure of the test contact creates a differential test current. The automatic test actuator includes a device (3,15) for closing the test contact (14) in response to the input of a code.
