In a transporting apparatus (1) with a table (2), spindles (4, 5) which are made to move by a driver chain (13) in a circulatory manner are guided through an elastic hose (11) which circulates, above the driver chain (13), together with the latter and the spindles (4, 5). A fixed covering (18), which protects the drive of the spindles (4, 5), projects, from both sides, against said hose (11). Consequently, the interior of the table (2) is protected in an effective manner against soiling. <IMAGE>
