The invention relates to an X-ray tube with an anode, whose impact point (target) (19) is subdivided into regions (20, 21) formed from different materials, it being possible to produce, as desired, in each of the regions (20, 21) focal points (BF1a, BF1b, BF2a, BF2b) of different sizes. In this case, the focal points (BF1a, BF1b, BF2a, BF2b) belonging to one region (20, 21) are in each case in different positions and all the focal points (BF1a, BF1b, BF2a, BF2b) are so close to each other that the focus position is essentially the same for all the focal points (BF1a, BF1b, BF2a, BF2b). <IMAGE>
