摘要 In known apparatuses for compressive shrinkage, an endless shrinkage band runs through a path of rotation which comprises a convexly curved portion and a subsequent rectilinear or concavely curved portion. In the region of the convex portion, the textile web to be treated is laid onto the shrinkage band, the outer face of which is stretched or spread in the region of this portion. At the point of transition between the two portions, the outer face returns to the unexpanded or non-spread state and compresses the fabric resting on it. The amount of compression is determined by the curvature of the convex portion and by the thickness of the shrinkage band and is therefore invariable. By means of the new apparatus, the compression operation is to be distributed over a longer distance. Moreover, the amount of compression is to be variable. The curvature of the convexly curved portion (5) decreases in the direction of rotation of the shrinkage band (1). The run-on point is displaceable along the convex portion (5) as a result of the pivoting of an entry roller (13). The amount of compression depends on the curvature at the run-on point. The apparatus is suitable for the treatment of woven or knitted textile webs (Figure). <IMAGE>
