Pocket torch with flat battery comprising a case formed by a base (2) closed by a lid (1). The latter carries a bulb (30), a reflector (50), a glass (53) to cover the reflector, and a switch (60). The base (2) contains a flat battery and conducting strips (11) and (12) designed to connect the terminals of the battery to the stud (31) and flanks (32), respectively, of the bulb (30). Such an arrangement, and in particular the siting of the switch, allows a user to hold the case comfortably in the hand while easily operating the switch.
