The invention relates to an electrical machine having a fan (3, 4) which distributes the environmental air, which flows in via at least one air inlet opening (6), in the interior of the machine and conveys it out of the interior of the machine via at least one air outlet opening (19), the air inlet opening (6) having a separation grating (7) by means of which the liquid which arrives with the environmental air is virtually completely separated, and at least one centrifuge disc (10) being arranged on the fan (3, 4), by means of which the residual liquid is centrifuged into a trap chamber (11).
