PURPOSE:To prevent a connection part between a motor and a drive power transmitting member from receiving an influence by misalignment of a clutch outer. CONSTITUTION:A one-way clutch 13 is interposed between an input gear 12 gear-connected to a drive shaft 2a and a pinion gear supporting shaft 8 in a motor of a starter. An external tooth serration 17a is formed in the peripheral surface of a clutch outer 17 of the one-way clutch 13, and an internal tooth serration is formed in the input gear 12, to serration-connect the clutch outer 17 to the input gear 12. A play in a radial direction of meshing in this serration connection is set larger than a maximum misaligning amount of the clutch outer 17. In this way, misalignment of the clutch outer can be absorbed by a play of the serration connecting part, and building the one-way clutch can be simplified, so that reduction of a production cost can be obtained. |
