PURPOSE:To obtain a simple inexpensive picture processor by fixing a lens system, picking up images, electrically selecting the entire part or a part of the view angle of an image pickup means and electrically performing zooming. CONSTITUTION:Component signals converted into digital data in an analog/ digital converter (ADC) 9 are supplied to a picture conversion circuit 10 and a picture processing is performed. In the circuit 10, pictures are converted so as to electrically perform the zooming by using the entire part or a part of the view angle image-picked up by fixing a CCD camera 7 wide, then compressed (movement compensation MC and discrete cosine transformation DCT, for instance) in a picture CODEC (encoder) 12, converted into the digital data and supplied to a multiplexer 20. Since a zooming ratio can be electrically selected by selecting the entire part or a part of the view angle of a picture input device provided with resolution higher than the required resolution in such a manner, the need of providing a zooming mechanism in the lens system is eliminated. |
