PURPOSE:To provide a data transform device in which shapes of common parts are easily unified and family style of type are outputted by highly compressed font data. CONSTITUTION:As for characters, common shapes (such as triangle at the right end of the horizontal line of Ming-style type) among characters are compressed and expressed in size data, the other shapes are expressed in terms of line/curve data, and outline shapes of characters are stored by two kinds of shapes for each character. Following processes are applied to the stored characters such as a process (S11) for reading the data on two kinds of shapes of are character, a process (S13) which interpolates the two shape line/curve data, a process (S16) which interpolates the sizes of common parts, a process (S17) in which the shapes of common parts are restored into line/curve data and a process (S18) which synthesizes the data into character data. |
