PURPOSE:To provide an electrolyte pouring method suitable for the mass production of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. CONSTITUTION:In a battery manufacturing process in which a battery element consisting of a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 1, and a separator 3 is accommodated in a battery container 4 for a nonaqueous electrolyte, the impregnation of the battery element with electrolyte battery is conducted by dividing ingredients of the electrolyte into at least two groups, and by separately impregnating each group. A flame resistant solvent generally has high viscosity and its penetration into the battery element is very slow, resulting in poor impregnation. To accelerate the impregnation, an auxiliary solvent is added before impregnation, and the auxiliary solvent is vaporized, then the battery element is accommodated into the battery container 4. After welding is completed, the rest of electrolyte ingredients mainly consisting a combustible solvent is finally poured to form the objective electrolyte constitution within the battery. |
