PURPOSE: To provide quick and high sensitivity immunoassay for detecting vitamin B12 using an anti-intrinsic factor antibody (especially monoclonal antibody). CONSTITUTION: Composition for determining the presence of vitamin B12 in a sample containing an antibody (e.g. allosteric competitive monoclonal antibody produced by hybridoma ATCC-HB10711) which can be specifically coupled to an intrinsic factor only in the absence of vitamin B12 and is released from coupling in the presence of vitamin B12 and when vitamin B12 is coupled to the intrinsic factor.
